When it comes to choosing a decorating method, screen printing is one of the most versatile and common used methods in the apparel industry. Screen printing is most cost effective for larger orders. In Your Face Apparel has the equipment to fulfill high volume orders up to 18 colors, but we can print as little as 48 pieces. We offer a wide variety of specialty inks and application methods so you can achieve any look you desire.
Screen printing has 3 main types of print methods: Plastisol, Water-based, & Discharge:
•Plastisol is the most common method used. Within the plastisol family, there are many different ink variations. Click on “SPECIALTY INKS AND EFFECTS” to get more info.
•Water-based ink is a special type of ink that soaks into the fabric instead of sitting on top like plastisol. You can achieve a bright print that really stands out, with a soft-hand feel.
•Discharge is a water-based ink that will still leave the fabric feeling soft. When printing lighter colored water-based inks on a darker shirt, a discharge agent is added to the ink. This agent removes the dye from the fabric before the ink dyes that area.
